In 206 the Vladimir Tikhonov tanker owned by Sovcomflot OJSC was called one of the world’s thee best tankers in terms of design and technical characteristics, ITAR-TASS reports with reference to British specialized journal Naval Architect specifying the rating of the world fleet vessels.
Deadweight capacity of the tanker is 162,000 tons, length - 280 meters. As of today it is the largest vessel in Russia. The tanker has double hull and it is capable of going in severe ice conditions. Unlike other large-capacity tankers the Vladimir Tikhonov’s draft enables it to pass shallow-water straits.
