CSX is no longer pursuing property in Chester County for an intermodal transportation center and will instead focus on upgrading its Charlotte terminal, spokeswoman Meg Sacks said.
Last week, Sacks said CSX had been talking to Chester County officials about building a shipping hub on S.C. 9 about 5 miles from Interstate 77.
An intermodal terminal would accept highway trailers and containers that arrive by rail or truck. Trailers unloaded from rail cars would be hauled by truck to their destination.
