Kuehne + Nagel to take over distribution, warehousing for Slovak Telekom

Kuehne + Nagel Slovakia has landed a five-year contract from Slovak Telekom to manage the warehousing and distribution of its end-user products nationwide. In addition to warehousing and distribution, Kuehne + Nagel will provide value-added services including shortening and coiling of cables, pick and pack as well as returns and complaints management.
Slovak Telekom's product range encompasses land line and cordless phones, cables, switchboards, modems, computer network infrastructure, MP3 players, telephone directories and promotional material, a Kuehne + Nagel statement said.
Under the agreement, 60 Slovak Telekom staff and a fleet of 20 vehicles have been transferred to Kuehne + Nagel, and the company has set up implants at Slovak Telekom's three national warehouses in Bratislava, Banksa Bystrica and Kosice. All operations will continue to be performed out of these locations.
"The solution enables us to focus our resources on our core business, benefiting from consistent quality levels and the efficiency enhancements to our logistics operations provided by Kuehne + Nagel," said Slovak Telekom supply chain manager Vaclav Barta.
