Cargo turnover of Reni Commercial Seaport (Ukraine) fell 13.4% in January-November 2006 to 2.3 million tons, Ukraine’s state regional administration reports according to RBC-Ukraine. The decrease is attributed to a difficult ice situation at the rivers last winter and limited depth at Danube - Black Sea canal in summer as well as to tariff growth and a half-year blockade of railway in Transdnestria. In the 11-month period transshipment of loose bulk cargo decreased by 18.4% to 1.9 million tons, liquid bulk cargo – by 10% to 0.24 million tons, transshipment of general cargo grew by 68.2% to 0.22 million tons. In 2005 cargo turnover of Reni port grew by 36.6% to 3.3 million tons.
