Cargo turnover of Ust-Luga port to make over 4.5 million tons in 2006

Cargo turnover of Ust-Luga port (Leningrad region) will amount to over 4.5 million tons in 2006, Igor Rusu, Director General of Ust-Luga OJSC told at the press conference Friday. Coal makes almost complete volume of cargo. In 2005, the port’s cargo turnover totaled 515.9 thou tons of coal (cargo turnover of Rosterminalugol). Rusu attributes the growth to growing capacity of the coal terminal.

By 2010 total cargo turnover of Ust-Luga port will exceed 40 million tons including 36 million tons of its railway part. It will be possible to achieve the growth owing to further development of the coal terminal, introduction of motor-railway ferry complex, container and oil complexes, sulfur transshipment terminal, multipurpose transshipment complex Yug-2 and liquefied gas complex.

Ust-Luga Company was founded in 1992. It is the customer-developer of the sea trade port of Ust-Luga.
