Multifunctional transshipment complex of Ust-Luga port to be put into operation in February 2007

Multifunctional transshipment complex of Ust-Luga port (Leningrad region) will be put into operation in February 2007, Igor Rusu, Director General of Ust-Luga OJSC, told at the press conference Friday. According to Rusu, all the works has been nearly completed. It will take a month or a month and a half to start operation of the complex.

MTC covers an area of 15 hectares, its berth length is 585 meters. The complex is intended for acceptance, storage and shipment of general cargo and inert materials and equipment necessary for construction of other transshipment complexes. In 2007, planned cargo turnover is 1 million tons, by 2010 – 3 million tons. The customer-developer of MTC is Rosterminalruda OJSC.

 

Ust-Luga Company was founded in 1992. It is the customer-developer of the sea trade port of Ust-Luga. Under contract with the RF Ministry of Transport the Company is entitled to take independent decisions as regards financing, designing, construction and maintenance of the sea trade port of Ust-Luga with attraction of state and private investments. The largest shareholders of the company are Leningrad Region government (27.3% of shares), United Financial and Industrial Company OJSC (21.9%), Cyprus companies Gramelinko Ltd. (17.5%) and Interalonso Holding Ltd. (15%).
