In the August the caisson of the platform was submerged on the special ballast stone pad for installing on its upper deck the upper structures. In September the auxiliary module and “Prirazlomnaya” upper structures moved on the caisson deck from the special barge. All the assembly operations were carried out afloat and were made for the first time in Russia. The assembly technique was developed on Sevmash.
To provide the afloat position of the platform caisson, 150 000 tons of water were pumped out from the ballast systems. The total weight of the assembled platform is more than 90 000 tons, its flare tower raises above the water surface over 130 meters. The first native marine ice resistant stationary platform gained the real shape.
On Sevmash “Prirazlomnaya” is being prepared for mooring to the outfitting quay. The vessels from Arkhangelsk came to help the plant towboats. In 2007 Sevmash plans to finish the platform building.
