Following the alteration announcement of its routes in November, CKYH Alliance (Cosco, K-Line, Yang Ming, Hanjin Shipping) is set for another rearrangement of the European routes in January 2007 to further improve joint operations and service efficiency.
Changed European routes will eliminate overlapping service links of the member carriers to reduce transit time and boost schedule reliability. The members of CKYH Alliance will also be able to exchange their slots more effectively.
CKYH Alliance members will provide more diversified and stable service to the customers through the changed service routes while reducing costs and strengthening partnership between its members based on more effective vessel operations and routes management.
COSCO and Evergreen are going to deploy a total of seven 2700TEU containerships to upgrade the existing Far East-Red Sea (FRS) service from January 2007. The new service will offer broader port coverage and improved customer service.
The final port rotation is as follows: Shanghai - Ningbo - Nansha - Hong Kong - Shekou - Singapore - Tanjung Pelepas - Aden - Jeddah - Aqaba - Sokhna Port - Singapore - Shanghai
The first sailing will be made on arriving Nansha on December 31, 2006, and direct calling to Shanghai, Ningbo will be effective from January 23,2007.
