Results of Marine Ecology LLC in 2006

In 2006, Marine Ecology LLC collected 29.75 tons of oily mixture and 528 cubic meters of floating rubbish, the company’s press release reads. Over the reported period the company responded 6 oil spills in the water area of Saint Petersburg port. In 2005, the company collected about 60 tons of oily mixture and 306 cubic meters of rubbish.

In 2006, Marine Ecology LLC provided ecological service under agreements with Administration of Saint Petersburg port, Saint Petersburg and Ust-Luga branches of Rosmorport FSUE for cleaning of the port’s water area from floating rubbish and oil products. Besides, Marine Ecology works under agreements with a number of large players at the market of port services: Severnaya Verf shipyard (cleaning of the yard’s water area), Petersburg Oil Terminal CJSC and Transbunker GC (emergency alert, cleaning of the territory and water area). From July 2006 the company is on emergency alert under agreement with SUE «TEC». The agreement with Pulkovo FSUE is under development.

Marine Ecology LLC is one of the leaders at the market of ecological services. It has been engaged in environmental activities from 1999. The staff of Marine Ecology includes 16 rescuers and 10 oil spill response specialists. The company’s fleet numbers 16 units enabling it to be on emergency alert with simultaneous cleaning of the port’s water area and responding oil spills when necessary. The company’s vessels are equipped with the facilities manufactured by LAMOR (Finland) and vacuum devices RO-VAC manufactured by DESMI (Denmark) for oil collection.
