Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg transfers RUB 5.1 mln for environment protection

Within January-March of 2015 OJSC “Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg” (SP SPb) transferred 5.1 mln Rubles for the implementation of the environmental programme, the Company says in its press release.

Main funds – 3.4 mln Rubles – were transferred by the company for protection of water resources, including regular control of use of coastal area, treatment and monitoring of waste water, and works on modernization of water disposal system of SP SPb.

1.7 mln Rubles were transferred for ensuring of safety dealing with production and consumption wastes, air protection and works on technical maintenance of ecological facilities of SP SPb.

OJSC “Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg” (included in UCL Port – stevedoring division of the International transportation group UCL Holding) – is the largest operator, rendering services on handling of all types of dry cargoes in the Greater Port of Saint-Petersburg.  It operates by modern specialized terminals for handling of ro-ro cargoes, cars and metals. In 2014 the turnover of the company amounted to 8.1 mln tons.
