TTS Marine gets order from Hyundai Heavy Industries for delivery of Cargo Access Equipment to two 6,500 units car carriers
TTS Marine AB has received an order from one of Hyundai Heavy Industries Yards, Hyundai Samho Shipyard in the southwest corner of the Korean peninsula. The contract includes delivery of Cargo Access Equipment to two 6,500 units car carriers to be built for the Norwegian owner Norwegian Car Carriers (NOCC), the company said in its press release.
The new contract will see TTS Marine AB to deliver two shipsets ro-ro equipment to the Korean yard for the construction of the two further PCTCs for NOCC.
The present newbuildings, with a capacity of about 6,500 cars, are of similar type and arrangement as previous delivery and each vessel will have a beam of 32.26 m and a total length of about 200 m.
This supply contract will include delivery of Cargo Access Equipment consisting of quarter and side ramps, internal ramps, covers and doors operated by hydraulic and electric systems. The Cargo Access Equipment has a total gross weight of about 660 tonnes.
The scope of supply includes delivery of design, vital parts and supervision of installation. Delivery of the equipment from TTS Marine AB is scheduled to be completed by 2nd quarter 2016.
The vessel are due for delivery to the owner by October, 2016 and January 2017, respectively.
For TTS Marine AB in Gothenburg this contract means a continuation of the business relations with Hyundai Heavy Industries as well as with the Norwegian owner NOCC.
Already in July 2011 TTS Marine AB received a contract for delivery of Cargo Access Equipment to NOCC’s newbuilding at HHI’s yard in Ulsan, which was delivered in August 2012 as “NOCC Oceanic”.
The above contract further emphasis the TTS position as a supplier of Cargo Access Equipment to the marine industry in general and to the ro-ro and car carrier operators in particular, such as Eukor, Glovis, Höegh Autoliners, Ray Car Carriers, UECC and Wallenius/Wilhelmsen, to their new buildings worldwide. Common for these deliveries is an early involvement of TTS and a close cooperation with both yards and end-users to obtain the best and most favourable logistic solutions for the trade the vessels are intended.
