Synergy 2, tanker of project RST27, has left the harbour of Krasnoye Sormovo (United Shipbuilding Corporation) for the site of signing the acceptance/delivery certificate, the shipyard’s press center says.
The contract signed between Synergy Shipping Ltd and Krasnoye Sormovo in April 2015 provides for construction of two RST27 tankers. The contract was signed with the assistance of MNP Group.
The Synergy 2 (launched on May 8, 2015) is on her way to lower Volga where the acceptance/delivery certificate is to be signed in one of Russia’s border ports. The tanker has recently undergone the sea trials.
The tankers of project RST27 (Volga-Don Max class) are designed for transportation of crude oil and oil products with no flash point. The tankers can transport two types of cargo simultaneously. The tanker was developed by Marine Engineering Bureau (Odessa) to the class of Russian Maritime Register of Shipping KM Ice1 R2 AUT1-ICS OMBO VCS ECO-S Oil tanker (ESP). The detailed project is developed by Volga-Caspian Design Bureau (Nizhni Novgorod).
Sea / river DWT – 6,980 /5,400 tonnes with draft of 4.2 / 3.6 m. LOA - 140.85 m, beam - 16.6 m, depth - 6 m.. Operational speed – 10.5 knots. Crew - 12 persons.
The design takes into account special requirements of Russian and global oil companies as well as additional environmental restrictions of Russian Maritime Register of Shipping «ECO PROJECT» (ECO-S).
RST27 tanker of mixed sea/river navigation features a record-high block coefficient – 0.93, an increased river function, deadweight increased by 732 tonnes versus Armada series with the same fuel consumption.
RST27 tankers have full revolving rudder propellers, increased trunk and submersible cargo pumps. They have no longitudinal bulkhead in CL and no framing in cargo tanks.
RST27 project vessels of Volga-Don Max class meet the dimensions of the Volga-Don Ship Canal and Volga-Baltic Waterway. LOA - 140.85 m, beam - 16.6 m, depth - 6 m.

Synergy 1, the fifteenth tanker of Project RST27, has been put into operation by Sinergy Shipping Ltd. The certificate was signed by the parties on June 2, 2015.
Krasnoye Sormovo OJSC (Nizhni Novgorod) is one of Russia's oldest shipyards. It was founded in 1849. In 2011, it entered the United Shipbuilding Corporation. The shipyard is Russia’s leader in construction of civil river and sea-and-river going vessels.
United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC OJSC) is the largest shipbuilding company in Russia. It was set up in 2007 with 100% federal ownership. The holding comprises 60 companies and organizations (major shipbuilding and shiprepairing companies as well as leading design bureaus). Currently, USC consolidates about 80% of the domestic shipbuilding complex. The Russian market is the main focus of the state corporation though it also exports its products to 20 countries worldwide.
