In January-May 2015, port Kavkaz handled 6.927 mln t of cargo (up 2.2 times, year-on-year), Harbour Master of port Kavkaz Yevgeny Tuzinkevich told IAA PortNews.
Off-harbour transshipment complex handled 3.038 mln t of cargo (+85.5%, year-on-year).
Transshipment of oil products increased 86.5% to 3.138 mln t, grain – by 64% to 240,000. Transshipment of sulphur and mineral fertilizers decreased by 9.8% to 509,000 t, LPG – 2.5 times to 105,000 t.
Exports from port Kavkaz dropped 2.3 times to 326,000 t, transshipment of coastal trade cargo surged 9.9 times to 3.593 mln t, imports – decreased by 8.7% to 226,000 t.
Bunker sales at the port increased by 19.7% to 192,000 t.
Passenger turnover jumped 2.2 times to 915,241 passengers.
The number of calls increased by 42.3% to 5,929 calls.
Port of Kavkaz is situated between the Azov and the Russian Black Sea coast. The depth of 4.5 meters allows for handling river boats and seagoing ships (off the harbour). The port’s facilities are intended for handling bulked cargoes (mineral fertilizers, concentrates of various ores, grain) as well as general, timber, and containerized goods. In 2014, the port handled 10.17 mln t of cargo.
