Astrakhan expects two catamaran ships for cruise links with Caspian countries
Two catamaran ships for cruise links with Caspian countries will come to Astrakhan, Rosmorport Director General Andrei Tarasenko has announced recently at the meeting with Astrakhan Region Governor Aleksandr Zhilkin, the Governor’s press center says.
Rosmorport management says the company is ready to deliver two catamaran ships, Sochi-1 and Sochi-2, for 370 seats each.
According to Sergei Krzhanovsky, regional Minister of Industry, Transport and Natural Resources, the ships will deliver personnel to hydrocarbon production facilities in the Caspian Sea and also be used for cruises.
The meeting also addressed the dredging of Volga-Caspian Seaway Canal. According to the head of Rosmorport, the scope of dredging planned for 2015 is to exceed 4 mln cbm of material. Dredging operations are to last till late November.
When discussing the development of Lotos SEZ, Andrei Tarasenko said it would be interesting for assembling of engines and navigation devices that are purchased from foreign manufacturers today.
