Tanker Synergy 2 of Project RST27 put into operation (photo)
On June 13, Krasnoye Sormovo (United Shipbuilding Corporation) delivered Synergy 2, its sixteenth Volga-Don Max tanker of project RST27 (hull No 02016) built for Synergy Shipping, says the series designer Marine Engineering Bureau.
As compared with other projects of Marine Engineering Bureau, the tanker of project RST27 features an increased river function, deadweight increased by 732 tonnes versus Armada series and reinforced hull (sea class R2, or region II under old RS classification) with the same fuel consumption and the same increased capacity of cargo tanks.

RST27 project vessels of Volga-Don Max class meet the dimensions of the Volga-Don Ship Canal and Volga-Baltic Waterway. LOA - 140.85 m, beam - 16.6 m, depth - 6 m.
The design takes into account special requirements of Russian and global oil companies as well as additional environmental restrictions of Russian Maritime Register of Shipping «ECO PROJECT» (ECO-S).
The tankers of project RST27 are designed for transportation of crude oil and oil products with no flash point.
The capacity of six cargo tanks and two slop tanks is 8,100 cbm, Sea / river DWT – 6,980 /5,400 tonnes with draft of 4.2 / 3.6 m. LOA - 140.85 m, beam - 16.6 m, depth - 6 m.. Operational speed – 11.0 knots. Crew - 12 persons. Places - 14 + pilot. Endurance (sea/river) - 20/12 days.
Krasnoye Sormovo OJSC (Nizhni Novgorod) is one of Russia's oldest shipyards. It was founded in 1849. In 2011, it entered the United Shipbuilding Corporation. The shipyard is Russia’s leader in construction of civil river and sea-and-river going vessels.
