Stryker to expand at Trade Port North Venlo
Stryker, one of the world’s leading medical technology companies, will expand its existing Netherlands’ location at Trade Port North Venlo by constructing a new warehouse, the company said in its press release.
Construction is starting immediately, and Stryker plans to use the new facility to serve its EMEA market beginning in 2016. The expansion will take place in a series of phases, starting with the addition of 9,600 square meters, furthering to a total of 32,000 square meters.
Venlo-Rotterdam
Venlo is the the largest Dutch inland hub of the port of Rotterdam with a/o numerous daily train- and barge shuttles and a constant flow of trucks connecting the two logistic areas.
The Port of Rotterdam Authority and SMART Logistics Centre Venlo recently set out their desire to work together to optimise the quality of the Rotterdam – North Limburg logistics corridor, and deeper into the European hinterland, and so improve the investment climate for entrepreneurs in both regions. The Venlo logistics business park Trade Port in particular is growing rapidly and the planned rail terminal at the Trade Port will give Venlo-Venray better multimodal access. The SMART Logistics Centre Venlo, a public-private partnership, is an important driver.
