TCBuen (Colombia) receives ISO 28000 certification for the security of its port services

TCBuen, the Container Terminal in Buenaventura (Colombia) owned by Grup TCB, has been awarded ISO 28000 certification for security in the supply chain of its port services, consisting primarily of handling and transporting cargo containers, the company said in its press release.

The ISO 28000 standard ensures the safe delivery of goods in compliance with current legislation and establishing mechanisms to respond quickly to emergency situations, to combat theft and to prevent damage to goods.

TCBuen has also completed its Integrated Management System (IMS) while updating the remaining ISO specifications concerning quality, safety and respect for the environment.

“Becoming ISO 28000 certified has let us evaluate our security measures and our compliance with the requirements for ensuring a safe environment in the loading and unloading of container ships. This quality and safety guarantee is an added value we can offer our customers”, says Miguel Ruiz, General Manager of TCBuen.

TCBuen is completing work on a second phase of development, which will double its operating capacity up to 610,000 TEUs per year by improving efficiency in the Buenaventura terminal.

These interventions are part of Grup TCB’s policy for excellence and efficiency, which involves the continuous improvement of systems, processes, machinery and services in all its maritime and railway terminals, with the aim of offering the highest quality to import and export companies.
