New river passenger terminal opens in Salekhard, Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Region (photo)
On June 26, 2015, new river passenger terminal was formally opened in Salekhard, says press center of Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Region’s administration.
According to Dmitry Kobylkin, Acting Governor of the Region, who attended the ceremony, the terminal’s state-of-the-art features are among its advantages.
Two fully loaded passenger ships, Meteor and Rem Vyakhirev, left the new terminal the same day.
The construction financed by the regional budget under targeted investment programme started in 2011. The project was developed by a Novosibirsk based design institute SibRechProekt. Three ships can moor at the terminal’s berths. There is also a berth for an amphibious hovercraft. Besides, Polui river embankment is intended for safe handling of passengers transport by river transport. The complex totally stretches for 248.5 m.
