Rybinsk based Vympel Shipyard launches big hydrographic vessel of Project 19920 built for RF Navy (photo)
On June 26, 2015, Vympel Shipyard (Rybinsk, Yaroslavl Region) launched a big hydrographic survey vessel of Project 19920 built for RF Navy, says press center of RF Ministry of Defence.
The shipyard also held a keel-laying ceremony for yet another vessel of the same project.
The newly built ship will be delivered to the hydrographic service of the Leningrad Naval Base (Lomonosov) in late summer upon completion of all trials. The ship will service over 160 aids to navigation placed at the islands and hard-to-reach places at the coast of the Gulf of Finland. Also, big hydrographic survey vessels of Project 19920 will undertake a large scope of bottom survey in the Gulf of Finland and supply the personnel of lighthouses.
