The project on construction of a coal terminal in the Sukhodol Bay (Primorsky Territory) has been repeatedly submitted to the State Expert Evaluation Department of Russia (FAI Glavgosekspertiza). As Glavgosekspertiza told IAA PortNews, the project failed to obtain the state expert approval on the first try as the project documentation did not exactly comply with the legislation, especially in respect of environmental issues.
The terminal is intended for coal exports to the Asia-Pacific region: Korea, India, China, Japan. The first phase with the capacity of 6 mln t per year is to be put into operation in July 2017. The second and the third phases are to make the terminal fully operational in 2019-2021.
The project investors – CJSC HC SBU and VolgaGroup.
