The CMA CGM Group upgrades its EURAF 4 service and provides a direct service between West Africa and the Mediterranean

The CMA CGM Group, a leading worldwide shipping group, announces the improvement of its African service. By upgrading the Group’s EURAF 4 service, West Africa will be each week directly connected to the West Mediterranean markets, starting July 18th, the company said in its press release.

The CMA CGM Group improves its EURAF 4 service. Until now, the service has been calling the following ports: Tangiers, Lome, Cotonou, Port Gentil, Libreville, Lome, Tangiers.

Starting July 18th, the EURAF 4 service will be improved. 2 vessels will be added. 7 vessels of a 2,200 to 2,700 TEUs capacity will sail the following rotation: Malta, Livorno, Genoa, Fos-sur-Mer, Barcelona, Valencia, Tangiers, Cotonou, Lome, Port Gentil, Libreville, Tangiers, Malta.

The new EURAF 4 service will upgrade West African coverage to many markets thanks to:
The addition of calls in Italy, France, Malta and Spain
The call in the Group’s hub Tangiers, offering connections with the EURAF 1, EURAF2, EURAF 3, EURAF 5, WAZZAN and GUINEA EXPRESS services
The call in the Group’s hub Malta, connecting the EURAF 4 service to the East

The CMA CGM Group has a historical presence in Africa, since 2001 and the launching of its WAX service. The acquisition of Delmas in 2006 reinforced the presence. The Group now calls 28 ports in West Africa. CMA CGM has developed its African presence by reinforcing its maritime services and by pursuing its land development.
The MV Spirit of Cape Town will be the first vessel sailing this new rotation, leaving Malta on July 18th.
