Over 30 vessels of LORP OJSC are engaged for transportation of tubular goods for the Power of Siberia along the Lena river. As press center of the Sakha Republic’s Government says, each vessel is supposed to make at least two voyages per month at Osetrovo-Krestyakh-Osetrovo line. It is the place concentrating all shallow-draught vessels of Lena United River Shipping Company (LORP OJSC) – dry cargo carriers, tugboats and barges.
Lena United River Shipping Company is the only transport company operating in the Arctic area of the republic of Sakha (Yakutia). It transports freight and passengers along inland water ways and the sea routes. The Company’s fleet numbers over 350 ships with the total capacity of 450,000 t. The Republic of Sakha holds the control state of the shipping company.
The Power of Siberia pipeline will be used for transportation of gas from Irkutsk and Yakutsk production centers via Khabarovsk to Vladivostok. Resource base is 1.2 trillion cbm and 1.5 trillion cbm of gas accordingly.
