Passenger flow via ‘Marine Façade’ (Saint-Petersburg) is expected to grow 1-2%, year-on-year, to 496 - 501 thou passengers in 2016, IAA PortNews reporter cites Serik Zhusupov, head of PLC Passenger Port of Saint Petersburg “Marine Façade”, as telling journalists today. The Port’s passenger turnover increased by 2%, year-on-year.
According to Serik Zhusupov, the plan for 2016 has already been developed. “We are working with requests for 2018 now”, he said.
In 2016, the Port will welcome the largest ship operating in the Baltic Sea, Serik Zhusupov said. The ship owned by MSC is 333 meters long.
In the navigation period of 2015, Passenger Port of Saint-Petersburg handled 223 cruise ships and 6 ferryboats with 491,822 passengers, up 2%, year-on-year.
Passenger Port of Saint-Petersburg «Marine Façade» PLC is in the ownership of the city of St. Petersburg and is the largest passenger seaport in Russia. Construction of Marine Façade began in 2006. The port can accommodate cruise and ferry ships of up to 330 m long and with a draft of up to 8.8 m. The length and depth of new access channels - 10 km and 11 m, accordingly.
