Arctic oceanographic expedition has been organized at the Northern Fleet for systematical research in the water zone of the Arctic Ocean, says press center of RF Defence Ministry.
It includes military and civil specialists who have great experience in high-latitude research.
The units of the expedition have all the modern equipment necessary to perform the whole complex of oceanographic and topographic works.
The expedition is planned to use combat and auxiliary ships of the Northern Fleet for its purposes.
In 2016, specialists are to work on Franz Josef Island, Novaya Zemlya, Severnaya Zemlya, New Siberian Islands in the Barents and Kara Seas.
