7M’16 throughput of Rosterminalugol is flat, year-on-year, at 9.6 mln t

In January-July 2016, JSC Rosterminalugol (port Ust-Luga, Leningrad Region) handled 9.6 mln t of coal, which is nearly the same as in 7M’15, says the Company.

In July, the Company handled 1.7 mln t of export coal, a 6-pct increase, year-on-year.  

Coal intended for exports to the Netherlands (ARA ports), Germany, Great Britain, Spain, Italy, Turkey, Brazil, Slovenia, Finland etc. is produced in Kuzbass and other coal basins. The product is delivered to Rosterminalugol by a network of Russian Railways.

In July, the coal terminal employees achieved yet another record having unloaded 25,074 rail cars, the highest result throughout the terminal’s history. In the same period of 2015, the terminal unloaded 20,871 rail cars.

July also saw a record high daily unloading - 936 rail cars were unloaded during a day (July 11/12, 2016).

In the 7-month period the terminal unloaded 135,801 rolling stock units.

JSC Rosterminalugol was established in 1996 to build and operate the coal terminal at the port of Ust-Luga (Baltic Sea). The Company specializes in loading / unloading operations, freight forwarding services, building and maintenance of facilities at the coal terminal located in the Ust-Luga Bay of the Gulf of Finland. The terminal has two berths of total length of 540 meters with depth of 14 meters. The terminal is able to accommodate vessels of up to 240 m in length and 32.2 m in breadth. In 2015, coal exports via the terminal rose 13%, year-on-year, to 17.5 mln t.
