Russian Gov't to spend over RUB 1.7 bn to back newbuilding programs in 2016
According to information from the Ministry of Industry and Trade in 2016 it plans will allocate in excess of 1,7 billion rubles to subsidize interest rates on leasing and credit payments under the 2016 shipbuilding program.
Currently under the subsidy scheme is provided for the construction of 89 ships.
The Ministry provided grants for 22 Russian shipowners in the amount of RUB 841,1 million for compensation of the cost of interest on loans and RUB 944,2 million – for lease payments.
In 2015 there were seven new leasing contracts signed through PJSC "GTLK" and CJSC "Goznak-Leasing" for construction and delivery of multipurpose mixed "river-sea" class vessels.
Russian government is implementing measures of of state support of shipbuilding projects. These measures include the government's resolution (№383 22.05.2008) to provide subsidies to Russian transport companies for reimbursement of 2/3 of the cost of payment of interest on loans, as well as lease payments under lease agreements on the acquisition of ships built at Russian shipyards.
In addition, the law of the Russian Federation (№ 305 – FZ, dated 07.11.2011, "On the Support of Shipbuilding and Shipping", providing preferential tax treatment is the ship is registered in the Russian International Register of Ships, built at domestic shipyards after January 1, 2010.
