Voctochny Port's volumes in seven months grow 3.7% to 39,17 million tonnes

Cargo throughout at Primorsky Krai, Russia based Vostochny Port in January-July 2016 rose 3.7% on the same period a year before and totaled 39,170,000 tonnes, the Authority of Primorsky Krai & Eastern Arctic Seaports told IAA PortNews.

The volume includes 20,446,000 tonnes of dry cargo, a 5.1% gain from a year earlier and 18,723,000 tonnes of oil products (+2.2%).

Vostochny Port is the year-round navigable and the deepest port of the Russian Far East region. Vostochny Port is located on the coast Japan Sea, 20 km from the terminus of Trans-Siberian Railroad - the city of Nakhodka. Vostochny can handle large tonnage vessels with draft of 15,5 m, length - 280 m and breadth - 40 m. The port’s stevedore companies operate16 cargo berths, a few auxiliary berths at the terminals for handling coal, containers, fertilizer, methanol, timber, bulk and general cargo. The largest stevedore operating at the port is JSC Vostochny Port, which specializes in coal handling with conveyor equipment.
