Handling of cargo at the Big Port St. Petersburg in January-July 2016 decreased by 8% on the same period last year to 27,84 million tonnes, the Port Authority said.
Oil product shipments in the reported period plummeted by 36% to 3,65 million tonnes. There was also a 15% decline in dry bulk segment to 4.19 million tonnes. General cargo volume was down 1% to 7,06 million tonnes.
Container traffic increased by 3% to 1,023,323 TEUs.
In 2015, total throughput of the port reached 51,51 million tonnes and container volumes – 1,71 million TEUs.
