Between January and July 2016 the Port of Vysotsk handled 9,626,100 tonnes, which is 3% lower than in the same period last year, the statistics of Russia's Baltic Seaports Authority show.
Oil product exports dropped 11% on the 7 month period of 2015 to 6.16 million tonnes, while coal and coke exports increased by 15% to 3.45 million tonnes.
Port of Vysotsk is based in Leningrad region, Russia with two major stevedores operating the port's dedicated terminals for handling coal and oil products: Port Vysotsky LLC and RPK-Vysotsk-Lukoil-II. In May 2012, the Russian government expanded Vysotsk port's boundaries by incorporating lands and adjacent waters occupied by facilities of a dedicated general cargo terminal being built on Putevoy cape. The terminal's annual capacity is projected to be 3 million tonnes. In 2015 export coal terminal operator Port Vysotsky LLC reported a 7.7% y-o-y gain in export coal volume to 5.67 million tonnes.
