Throughput of Kaliningrad Sea Commercial Port down 1.9% to 1.86 mln t in 8M’16

In January-August 2016, Kaliningrad Sea Commercial Port handled 1,864,600 t (-1.9%, year-on-year), the stevedoring company says.

In the reported period, transshipment general cargo totaled 800,300 t (including 705,300 t of metal), 619,400 t of dry bulk cargo, 4,000 t of timber, 142,500 t of liquid bulk cargo and 14,200 t of other cargo.

The port’s container throughput climbed over 1.6 times to 29,369 TEUs.

Kaliningrad Sea Commercial Port OJSC is the largest enterprise of the regional port complex. Practically all means of transport and the basic part of the export-import freight traffic passing through the region, close in the port. In 2015, the port’s throughput totaled 2.781 mln t.
