Khabarovsk Territory authorities call on expansion of porto franco regime to Sovetskaya Gavan district adjacent to Vanino district which is already within a free port limits. According to the press center of the Khabarovsk Territory Government, this has been discussed today, September 21, 2016, at the first meeting of the Committee of the Vladivostok Free Port Supervisory Board. The meeting was chaired by Vyacheslav Shprot, Chairman of the Committee, Governor of the Khabarovsk Territory.
The Committee work involved the representatives of the Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East, Far East Development Corporation, Vanino district administration and potential residents of the Free Port of Vladivostok. The Committee has discussed the measures to support investors needed to launch the projects.
Vanino and Sovetskaya Gavan districts are linked economically, they have a common transport infrastructure. Representatives of the Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East have backed the initiative. It can be discussed at the coming meeting of the Supervisory Board.
Under the Federal Law No 252-FL, porto franco regime is applied at the Khabarovsk Territory’s Vanino District from July 2016. The business community is interested in the new format of investments. The pool of potential residents numbers 16 companies including Sakhatrans LLC, Prime NJSC, Far East Vanino Port LLC, etc. The announced investments are estimated at some RUB 72 bln.
