Rosmorport’s Arkhangelsk department takes delivery of ice-class buoy tender Kapitan Shershnev (photo)

Arkhangelsk department of FSUE Rosmorport has taken delivery of new ice-class buoy tender of Project 02781. The vessel named Kapitan Shershnev was built by GRAND OJSC (Saint-Petersburg) and delivered in September 2016.

The buoy tender came to Arkhangelsk from Big Port St. Petersburg on 18 October 2016. The Kapitan Shershnev is the 17th vessel and fourth buoy tender in the fleet of the department.

Key characteristics: Class - КМ*Ice3[1]R2 AUT3, length – 25.18 m, breadth – 6.6 m, depth – 2.5 m, draught – 1.4 m, speed – 10.3 knots, crew – 2.

The vessel is equipped with a 3.5-tonne crane and a winch with a pulling force of 5 t to place and remove medium buoys of С-3 and МБ-780 type with anchors of up to 3 t. The vessel’s deck allows for maintenance of medium and small buoys.

With its ice class the ship can operate under temperature of up to -25 C° and sail independently in brash ice of up to 70 cm thick.

Arkhangelsk department of FSUE Rosmorport will be deployed for placing/removing aids to navigation at the approaches and in water areas of Arkhangelsk, Naryan-Mar, Onega and Sabetta ports.
