Krasnoye Sormovo shipyard (United Shipbuilding Corporation) has completed the series of Russia’s first dredgers of TSHD 1000 deign having delivered the Kadosh to FSUE Rosmorport.

Launched on October 5, the Kadosh successfully underwent mooring and sea trials. The acceptance/delivery certificate has been signed at the beginning of December.

The Kadosh is intended for operation at the port of Tuapse.

The Sommers and the Kronshlot, first two dredgers delivered to Rosmorport earlier, are already deployed, as intended, in the water areas and at the approaches to Makhachkala and Ust-Luga seaports.

The experts mark high operational characteristics of the ships’ dredging equipment, excellent performance of general shipboard systems and specific systems related to loosening, excavation and dumping of material. Having built this series Krasnoye Sormovo has confirmed once more its ability to meet the challenges of any level. The shipyard has obtained new experience and competence in construction of modern dredging equipment. Krasnoye Sormovo also has sufficient facilities to execute similar orders in the future.

The contract between Rosmorport and Krasnoye Sormovo shipyard on construction and delivery of three ships of TSHD 1000 design was signed in April 2014.

    Vessel particulars: LOA – 62,6 m; Beam – 14 m; Draft – 4,25 m; Hopper capacity – 1000 m3.

Class notation: KM(*) Ice1 R1 AUT2 Hopper Dredger.

The TSHD 1000 series vessels are able to dredge to a depth of 20 meters and operate at water temperatures -2 ° C to + 20 ° C.

The TSHD 1000 was designed by Damen Shipyards Gorinchem (Netherlands) while working design documentation was provided by Volga-Caspian Design Bureau (MNP Group, Russia).

Management of shipbuilding projects is the key competence of MNP Group (Marine Oil & Gas Projects). With its extensive experience in civil shipbuilding MNP Group ensures efficient response to market changes, comprehensive use of its resources and accurate compliance with deadlines under shipbuilding contracts.

Krasnoye Sormovo shipyard, incorporated in United Shipbuilding Corporation, is one of the oldest Russia’s shipbuilding companies, founded in 1849. The Shipyard added a special page to the history of the domestic military and commercial shipbuilding. Throughout the 75-year period, more than three hundred submarines and rescue vehicles including 25 nuclear ones have been built and modernized by Krasnoye Sormovo shipyard. Today Krasnoye Sormovo builds vessels of commercial fleet meeting the requirements of international conventions on reliability and safety. Some of Krasnoye Sormovo tankers are in the list of Significant Ships of the Year by the Royal Institution of Naval Architects (RINA).

United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC OJSC) is the largest shipbuilding company in Russia. It was set up in 2007 with 100% federal ownership. The holding comprises 60 companies and organizations (major shipbuilding and shiprepairing companies as well as leading design bureaus). Currently, USC consolidates about 80% of the domestic shipbuilding complex. The Russian market is the main focus of the state corporation though it also exports its products to 20 countries worldwide.
