First resident of Free Port of Vanino to build coal transshipment terminal with annual capacity of 15 mln t (photo)
Representatives of Far East Vanino Port LLC and Far East Development Corporation JSC have signed an agreement on activities at the Free Port in the Vanino District of the Khabarovsk Territory. According to the Territory’s Government, the first resident of the Free Port of Vanino is going to build a terminal for transshipment of 15 mln t of coal per year. Total investments into the project are estimated at RUB 20.5 bln. The terminal is to become fully operation in 2021.
The terminal is an integral part of an investment project on development of the Elegest coal field in the Republic of Tuva. The field is developed by Tuva Energy Industrial Corporation CJSC.
Total investment in the Free Port of Vanino are expected to exceed RUB 45 bln in the initial phase. Another potential investor is Prime NJSC. The company is going to build a terminal for LPG exports to the APR countries. Investments are estimated at RUB 25.5 bln.
The interest to the Free Port of Vanino has been already expressed by 18 companies with investments of about RUB 72 bln.
Meanwhile the Khabarovsk Territory authorities have addressed the Ministry of Industry and Trade with a proposal to include more districts into the Free Port of Vanino: Sovetskaya Gavan, Vyazemsk, Bikinsk, Lazo and Khabarovsk districts.
