Port of Tallinn’s Supervisory Board approved company’s strategy by 2021
Port of Tallinn says its vision is to become the most innovative port on the shores of the Baltic Sea by offering its customers the best environment and development opportunities.
Company’s strategy focuses on four main fields of activity: cargo and activities related to cargo handling, passengers and activities related to servicing them, real estate development and shipping.
According to the new strategy the cargo flow of Port of Tallinn will stabilize by 2021 and the amount of cargo passing through the harbours of Port of Tallinn will increase up to 21 million tons. The annual passenger number will increase up to 11 million people.
The five year goals set by the company include conscious development towards increasing the competitiveness of cargo corridors passing through Estonia in cooperation with all parties of the logistics chain. Opportunities are seen in liquid bulk market and increasing container traffic, as well as cargo exchange between the North and South.
In the field of passenger traffic, the strategy sees growth potential in all shipping lines and servicing cruise ships. The growth is supported by ideas to establish new regular lines and to attract new cruise ships; also Asian tourists’ increasing interest towards our region.
