In January 2017, the network of Russian Railways loaded 100.1 mln t of cargo, up 6.7%, the Company’s press center says.
In the reporting period the railways shipped the following goods: coal – 31.4 mln t (+9.9%, year-on-year); coke – 0.939 mln t (+15.7%); crude and oil products – 21.2 mln t (+1.9%); iron and manganese ores – 8.8 mln t (-1.4%); ferrous metal – 5.9 mln t (+7.3%); ferrous metal scrap – 0.802 mln t (+75.9%); chemical and mineral fertilisers – 4.9 mln t (+5%); cement – 1.1 mln t (+1.6%); forect cargo – 3.2 mln t (+10.2%); grain – 1.6 mln t (+18.8%); construction material – 7.7 mln t (+9.1%); non-ferrous ore and sulphur feedstock – 1.6 mln t (-3.4%); chemicals and soda – 2.3 mln t (+8.8%); industrial feedstock and moulded materials – 2.2 mln t (+5.1%).
In January 2017, freight turnover grew by 11.1%, year-on-year, to 203.2 bln tariff ton-km. Freight turnover taking into account empty wagon runs was 261.8 bln ton-km (+10.7%).
