In January-February 2017, the network of Russian Railways loaded 196.1 mln t of cargo, up 3.8%, the Company’s press center says.
In the reporting period the railways shipped the following goods: coal – 60.1 mln t (+9.1%, year-on-year); coke – 1.8 mln t (+6.3%); crude and oil products – 40.5 mln t (-0.3%); iron and manganese ores – 17 mln t (-1.8%); ferrous metal – 11.5 mln t (+1.8%); ferrous metal scrap – 1.7 mln t (+41.4%); chemical and mineral fertilisers – 9.4 mln t (+4.5%); cement – 2.5 mln t (-7.2%); forest cargo – 6.7 mln t (+6.8%); grain – 3.2 mln t (+1.7%); construction material – 16.6 mln t (-1.8%); non-ferrous ore and sulphur feedstock - 3.2 mln t (-4.5%); chemicals and soda – 4.5 mln t (+5%); industrial feedstock and moulded materials – 4.6 mln t (+6%).
From the beginning of the year, freight turnover totaled 392.6 bln tariff ton-km (+6.7%). Freight turnover taking into account empty wagon runs was 505 bln ton-km (+6.5%).
In February, loading totaled 96 mln t (+0.9%, year-on-year).
In February, freight turnover climbed by 2.2% to 189.1 bln tariff ton-km. Freight turnover taking into account empty wagon runs grew by 2.2% to 242.8 bln ton-km.
