In January-March 2017, the network of Russian Railways loaded 305.1 mln t of cargo, up 3.8%, the Company’s press center says.
In the reporting period the railways shipped the following goods: coal – 91.1 mln t (+9.3%, year-on-year); coke – 2.8 mln t (+3.9%); crude and oil products – 61.2 mln t (-0.2%); iron and manganese ores – 26.6 mln t (+0.2%); ferrous metal – 17.8 mln t (+0.4%); ferrous metal scrap– 2.8 mln t (+21.6%); chemical and mineral fertilisers – 14.3 mln t (+5.1%); cement – 4.6 mln t (-2.3%); forest cargo – 10.8 mln t (+3.9%); grain – 5 mln t (+0.6%); construction material – 27.9 mln t (-3.2%); non-ferrous ore and sulphur feedstock – 5 mln t (-1.3%); chemicals and soda – 6.7 mln t (+3.5%); industrial feedstock and moulded materials – 7.8 mln t (+13.2%).
From the beginning of the year, freight turnover totaled 607.6 bln tariff ton-km (+7.3%). Freight turnover taking into account empty wagon runs was 779.4 bln ton-km (+7.1%).
In March, loading totaled 109 mln t (+3.8%, year-on-year).
Freight turnover in March climbed by 8.4% to 214.8 bln tariff ton-km. Freight turnover taking into account empty wagon runs grew by 11.8% to 274.3 bln ton-km.
