Container throughput of port Hong Kong (China) up 12.6% to 4.87 mln TEUs in Jan-March'17

In January-March 2017, port Hong Kong (China) handled 4.87 mln TEUs (+12.6%, year-on-year).

According to the port authority, the port’s largest terminal Kwai Tsing handled 3.86 mln TEUs (+12.5%), other terminals handled 1 mln TEUs (+12.8%).

Port Hong Kong is one of the world’s largest ports. It is capable of handling 456,000 vessels per year. In 2016, the port’s container throughput hit 19.58 mln TEUs.
