The fourth Icebreakers festival was held in St. Petersburg on 29-30 of April 2017. The residents and guests of the city were able to visit operational icebreakers of the FSUE “Rosmorport” Fleet, namely Murmansk, St. Petersburg, Mudyug and Ivan Kruzenschtern, as well as the ice-class tugboat Nevskaya Zastava and museum icebreaker named Krasin, Rosmorport says in a press release. The vessels were moored at Lieutenant Schmidt quay and English quay.

During these two days, a free access to the icebreakers has been granted for all comers.  The visitors have been welcomed by the crew members and cadets of the Admiral Makarov State University of Maritime and Inland Shipping and the Saint Petersburg State Marine Technical University who were ready to answer the visitors’ questions, explain the specifications of the vessels of that type and peculiarities of the crew life on-board.

Traditionally, the final chord of the festival has been a colorful show of tugboats "Sea Waltz". In total more than 18,000 people attended the event.

The Festival ended with a loud continuous beep sound: that is how the icebreakers said their goodbyes to the city until the next year.
