ABS, a leading provider of classification and technical services to the marine and offshore industries, signed an agreement with Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering Co. (DSME) to support safety and apply class guidance to a conceptual Floating Liquefied Natural Gas (FLNG) unit.
The project is planned to commence at the end of May and have a duration of twelve months. ABS will review the conceptual design to the applicable class requirements and provide industry-leading guidance to support safety during development.
Recognizing the changing landscape and increased industry focus on gas, ABS launched its Global Gas Solutions team in 2013 to support industry in developing gas-related projects.
