Hydrographic boat of Project К 1100 Meridian launched at the port of Kaliningrad (photo)
Hydrographic boat of Project К 1100, Meridian, built by Astron Marine LLC (Saint-Petersburg, Russia) for North-Western Branch of FSUE Rosmorport, was launched at the port of Kaliningrad on 19 May 2017. The ceremony included the raising of the state flag.
Rosmorport says the Meridian is the ninth hydrographic boat of the Branch (the 59th unit of its fleet).
The boat will be involved in surveying works in the water area of Kaliningrad.
The design features good maneuverability and shallow draft allowing for operating in shallow waters.
The boat is fitted with state-of-the-art electronic aids to navigation and a multibeam echosounder.
The survey system includes multibeam echosounder Kongsberg ЕМ 2040С Dual, navigation system GPS/GLONASS HЕMISPHERE VS-330, DGPS, sound velocity profiler Valeport MiniSVS and two software packages: QINSy Survey and QINSy Office.
The Branch has additionally acquired and installed a motion reference unit Kongsberg Seatex MRU-5.
Two acoustic arrays installed on the boat allow for expansion of the survey area by 2.5 times as compared with that covered by one acoustic array (from 40 meters to 100 meters).
The boat will let expand the opportunities and improve the efficiency of hydrographic works in the water are of port Kaliningrad.
Key characteristics: class notation - KM Aut3 HSC, length max – 12.55 m, breadth – 3.25 m, depth – 1.68 m, draft – 0.60 m, gross capacity – 14 register tons, speed – 30 knots, endurance – 1.5 days, special personnel – up to 6 persons.
