  Throughput of port Ventspils (Latvia) up 20% to 10.8 mln t in Jan-May'17

  

  In January-May 2017, the port of Ventspils handled 10.8 mln t of cargo (+20%, year-on-year). According to the port authority, transshipment of Ro-Ro cargo grew by 24% to 166,000 t

  Ventspils Nafta handled 3.8 mln t (-5%), Kālija parks - 175,000 t.

  The number of passenger carried by Ventspils- Nynäshamn line grew by 33% to 17,970 passengers. 

  Ventspils port is located near Venta river. There are terminals for loading and unloading of crude and oil products, liquid chemicals and fertilizers, metal and coal, timber and fish, containers and Ro-Ro trailers. In 2016, the port handled 18.8 mln t of cargo.
