New car-and-passenger ferry deployed at Kerch Strait ferry line (photo)

New ice-class car-and-passenger ferry Nina Malkova built by Kerch based shipyard Fregat is deployed at Kerch Strait ferry line  from 9 June 2017, says the line operator Maritime Directorate LLC.

The vessel operates on the route Port Kavkaz (Berth No 7) – Commercial Sea Port of Kerch carrying vehicles of up to 7.5 tonnes to reduce waiting time for low-tonnage vehicles and reduce load on passenger line in the summer tourism season.

The Nina Malkova ferry is about 40 meters long and 10 meters wide. She can accommodate 10 low-tonnage vehicles and 62 passengers. 

Car ferry Kerchensky-2 able to carry 17 low-tonnage vehicles and 60 passengers is expected to join the service in the nearest time.
