The Baltic Fleet begins an active phase of the exercise of the Fleet’s all-arms forces, says press center of RF Defence Ministry. Within the naval part of the exercise, about 20 surface ships, boats and support vessels will be deployed in the Fleet’s combat training ranges.
In the course of the tactical exercise, it is planned to work out actions of a grouping of all-arms fleet forces in accordance with the combat assignment. In the sea ranges of the Fleet, a set of combat training tasks will be carried out, the readiness of the forces to perform ASW and AD tasks will be tested. Minesweepers and small ASW ships will fulfil the tasks of guarding and defending water areas. ASW aircraft of the BF will be intensively used.
The landing of a sea assault on the unequipped coast in the territory of the Baltic Fleet's range ‘Khmelyovka’ will be the next combat training stage. Subunits of the Marine Infantry of the Fleet’ s Coastal Troops being supported with the fire of the ship strike group, as well as with the BF’s attack and fighter aircraft, are to land from the sea to the unequipped coast and seize a bridgehead for developing the offensive.
