  Throughput of port Ventspils (Latvia) up 23% to 12.4 mln t in HI’17

  

  In January-June 2017, the port of Ventspils handled 12.4 mln t of cargo (+23%, year-on-year). According to the port authority, transshipment of Ro-Ro cargo grew by 22%.

  In the reporting period, Kālija parks handled 175,000 t.

  The number of passenger carried by Ventspils- Nynäshamn line grew by 30% to 21,700 passengers. 

  Ventspils port is located near Venta river. There are terminals for loading and unloading of crude and oil products, liquid chemicals and fertilizers, metal and coal, timber and fish, containers and Ro-Ro trailers. In 2016, the port handled 18.8 mln t of cargo.
