Throughput of port Helsinki (Finland) up 12% to 6.5 mln t in HI’17

In January-June 2017, the Port of Helsinki (Finland) handled 6.5 mln t of cargo (+12%, year-on-year), the port authority says.

Transshipment of export cargo totaled 3.1 mln t (+11%), import – 2.16 mln t (+12%).

In the reporting period, passenger turnover grew by 3% to 5.4 mln passengers.

The Port of Helsinki is one of the largest ports in Finland, the largest passenger port and the third largest in the Baltic Sea. The Port of Helsinki accounts for 77% of Finland's passenger traffic. In 2016, the port handled 11.62 mln t of cargo (+1.9%, year-on-year).
