Vostochny Port completed modernization of its water treatment facilities (photo)
Vostochny Port JSC (part of the holding run by Port Management Company LLC) says it has completed modernization of its water treatment facilities which began in spring of 2016. The newly installed equipment costs about RUB 140 mln, says the stevedore’s press center.
The port’s water treatment facilities consist of a cascade of reservoirs for a sequential purification of waters.
New water treatment facilities of Vostochny Port let improve the quality of technical waters 2.5 times, from earlier 10 mg of suspended solids in a cubic decimeter of water to 4 mg.
“Water treatment facilities have been working from the moment the dedicated coal terminal was put into operation, their modernization is a scheduled activity. Water treatment system of Vostochny Port’s Phase 3 that have been put into service earlier is the first facility of the new terminal”, says Yevgeny Arekhta, Chief Engineer of Vostochny Port.
Vostochny Port JSC (Primorsky Territory) is Russia’s largest publicly available terminal equipped with wagon dumpers, conveyor systems, ship loading equipment and a unique multilevel system of magnetic separation. The terminal exports coal produced by different coal companies of Russia. In 2016 the port handled 23,5 mln t of coal, one fifth of all coal exports via Russian seaports and about 30% of coal transshipment via the ports of Russia’s Far East Basin.
Throughout its history Vostochny Port shipped 390 mln t of coal, handled 6.6 mln of rail cars and 28,000 vessels. Over the last 10 years Vostochny Port shipped more than 200 mln t of coal, which is an absolute record among all coal ports of Russia.
Vostochny Port is a port of open access, available for all coal producers. Among the key targets of the port is to build up its throughput with improvement of offered services: uninterrupted supply and shipment of cargo to the most efficient types of ships and development of new supply routes.
Vostochny Port JSC LLC is implementing an ambitious investment project on construction of the coal terminal’s Phase 3 including the construction of the federal railway infrastructure. New terminal facilities will be put into operation in 2017 allowing for port capacity to reach 39 mln t in 2019. The coal will be delivered from Kuzbass and other coal fields of Russia.
