OJSC Okskaya Sudoverf (OKA Shipyard, part of UCL Holding) in line with the company's fixed assets modernization program signed an agreement for delivery of the thermal cutting machine (TCM), the shipbuidling company said in a press release.
The new equipment is designed for cutting the entire range of sheet metal used at shipyard for efficient manufacturing. Investments in the project totaled nearly 9 million rubles. The TCM "Termit" was supplied by TekhmontazhSistem.
The equipment includes two ventilated thermal cutting tables and a rail track, as well as a specialized CNC system.
Vladimir Kulikov, General Director of Oka Shipyard comments: "The thermal cutting machine is designed for instant and accurate cutting of metal sheets. The new equipment will enable our company to significantly reduce the time of steel processing, to reduce the amount of production waste and to enhance control over the cutting process".
The new equipment will be installed at the end of 2017 in the shipyard's shop for hull fabrication and will be for manufacturing of ship hull parts, execution of special machinery orders.
