Handling of cargo at the Port of Taganrog based in Russia's southern region for the January-July period increased by 15.7% year-on-year 1,438,600 tonnes, the Port Harbormaster told the IAA PortNews regional correspondent.
Throughput growth in the seven-month period was driven by grain volume which leaped by 35.3%, coal (+31.6%), oil products (+18.4%) and non-ferrous metals (+6.7%).
The Harbormaster's office granted arrival / departure permissions to 424 / 415 vessels, including port service vessels. There were 361 arrivals and 342 departures in the same period 2016.
